Question: Which Methylation Test is done inthe US/EU/UK/CA/ZA
Answer:
Stride only
Question: ould I please clarify whether this methylation test includes analysis of specific genetic variants (SNPs) such as
1.MTHFR C677T, A1298C,
MTR (Methionine Synthase)
MTRR (Methionine Synthase Reductase)
AHCY (Adenosylhomocysteinase)
COMT (Catechol-O-Methyltransferase)
Answer:
I can confirm that our methylation test includes analysis of the following key genetic variants: MTHFR – both C677T and A1298C, MTR . MTRR COMT.We do not currently include the AHCY gene in our report. While we recognise its role in the methylation cycle, it is excluded for the following reasons:
Benign Variants: Common SNPs associated with AHCY (e.g., rs41301825 and rs13043752) are now considered benign with no clinically relevant impact. They are also quite rare, appearing in only 0.6% and 1.9% of the population respectively.
Extremely Rare Mutation: A third variant (rs121918608) is a rare pathogenic mutation linked to serious conditions such as hypermethioninemia and developmental delays, and is not typical for wellness-focused testing.
At Stride, we rigorously select genes based on strong evidence from human studies, reproducibility, and their relevance to modifiable lifestyle and nutritional interventions. Our aim is to provide you with insights that are scientifically valid, actionable, and meaningful for long-term health support.
